ILMINSTER DISTRICT RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB TARGET SHOOTING CLUB TAKES THE SAFETY OF ITS MEMBERS AND VISITORS EXTREMELY SERIOUSLY. HOWEVER, IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF ALL PERSONS WHO ATTEND THE CLUB’S PREMISES TO MAKE THEMSELVES AWARE OF THE CLUB’S RANGE SAFETY RULES AND REGULATIONS.
- Visitors to the Club who will be engaging in shooting activities will be given a full briefing of the basic safety rules and will be overseen by a trained coach, instructor or senior club member throughout their visit.
- Probationary club members will be given full instruction regarding range, rifle and ammunition safety at the start of their probationary period and will receive further follow up instruction as necessary.
- Experienced shooters visiting IDRPC must, at all times, follow Club rules and safety procedures and must always follow range officer commands
- Club officials, members, volunteers, parents, carers & visitors must understand their individual roles when attending the Club, the responsibilities they are accountable for and what is expected of them.
- IDRPC cannot accept responsibility for personal loss or damage to equipment or vehicles. Nor can the Club accept responsibility for injury or loss of life. However the Club does have provision in place for the safeguarding and welfare of its members including the NSRA child protection policy for any under-18s or vulnerable persons.
- IDRPC is affiliated to the sport’s governing body, the NSRA, and is also affiliated to the Somerset county governing body, the SSBSA. The Club has the appropriate certificates and insurances in place to cover its sporting activities.
