The Rifle

IDRPC follows the governing body of the NSRA with respect to permitted rifles.
All rifles are chambered for rimfire 5.6 mm (.22 in). Even if the rifle has a magazine, only one cartridge may be loaded. Sights are open and an Aperture is permitted as well as short and long sight correction ( a must for old eyes!) within NSRA parameters.

The Targets

Meyton Electronic Scoring Targets

IDRPC is proud to be the first club to introduce official NSRA Electronic scoring systems in the County and we continue to stride to be in line with clubs at a National level. All of our targets follow strict NSRA regulations on accuracy checking and each target has its specific registration details.

The installation of these systems have enabled the club to develop 3P and Air Pistol under ISSF and NSRA regulations. As well as adopting a higher level of training to meet the demands of International and National standards.

The target illustrated above shows a perfect score of 100/100.

*Note the last shot which is a 10.7 which means it is just 0 .2 off the center!

PAPER TARGETS

The club still uses the old NSRA official 25  yard 10 bull Targets. Probationary members are required to be begin there training on these and then move on to the electronic format.

The club have qualified NSRA paper target scorer’s in the event that our club members wish to compete in a competition that  runs outside NSRA regulations. Paper targets are also useful to calibrate sights for 100 and 50 meter competitions during the summer. The target above shows a perfect score of 100/100 by our current top shooter who began some years ago with a 76/100 ! and is now the highest ranked in Somerset with the silver medal of 2023.

Scatt Training system

The club has a SCATT Basic system for training. Although the system is electronic a paper target is calibrated, members are free to download the software on their own lap tops or use the clubs and the set up is usually done within 5 minutes. Additionally you can use non live red caps (plastic rounds to protect the firing pin).
